Born in 1992, Takashi YASUNAMI studied piano with Katsunori Ishii, Farkas Gábor, and Minoru Nojima in the Doctoral Program of the Tokyo College of Music Graduate School, where he researched the complete piano works of E. v. Dohnányi. He completed his PhD and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying under Ronan O'Hora and Noriko Ogawa.
In 2021, he won the 14th Schubert International Competition. He specializes in the music of Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy, Liszt, and Brahms. His interest in the connection between Brahms and Liszt led him to study Dohnányi, and he became the first Dohnányi performer in Japan.
He has performed with the Duisburg Orchestra and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. He has released two CDs to date: Dohnányi: 4 Rhapsodien Op.11 and Schubert / Dohnányi.
